5 Ways to Boost Your Energy in the Morning


A high energy morning is essential for being alert and productive for the remainder of the day. If you find you can barely get out of bed to take a shower, let alone make it to lunch without needing a nap, then you definitely need a boost of energy. Here are five simple ways to do that.

1. Get a Goods Nights Rest

One of the simplest ways to boost your energy in the morning is to make sure you get a good night’s rest. Now, “a good night’s rest” can mean different things for different people, but on average you should get at least 6 to 8 hours of sleep.

If you find you wake up often, make sure that all the lights are out. Place your cell phone in a different room, or at least far away from your bed. The blue light from mobile devices  and other appliances can actually stimulate your brain and keep you awake longer. This affects your overall ability to stay asleep as well.

2. Open the Curtains

Sunshine can help give you a boost of energy. If you don’t want to step outside as soon as you open your eyes, at least open the curtains in every room and let the light shine in.

Take a few minutes to stand in the window and just bask in the sunshine. This can help to give you that quick wake up,  and get rid of the draggy, sleepy feeling that many people have for hours in the morning.

3. Take a Daily Multi-Vitamin

Getting the proper vitamins and nutrients is important for creating sustainable energy throughout the day. Most of the foods we eat don’t provide enough nutrients, and this is where it’s important to take a multivitamin.

If you find you have trouble remembering to take your supplements, set a reminder on your phone or write it down on your calendar. The important thing is to make this a part of your daily routine.

4. Eat a Light Breakfast
