Why Meghan Markle’s Favorite Exercise Is Perfect For Post-Pregnancy Weight Loss

 

Meghan Markle has a pretty remarkable lifestyle, but still seems to manage to stay trim no matter what else is happening in her life.

Now a mother, we don’t envisage her losing her enviable physique any time soon. That’s because Meghan has a fantastic way of keeping fit without taking up too much time out of her day. In fact, it’s a method she had to adopt many years before she met Prince Harry due to her hectic Suits filming schedule and busy lifestyle.

So what’s her secret weapon?

Yoga. Specifically, hot yoga.

Woah, what’s hot yoga?

Hot yoga is a form of yoga which, quite simply, is tougher, more energetic and rather than focusing on simply holding positions and stretches for a set period of time, actually aims to get your heart racing.

It’s a fab form of cardio, and it can burn anything from 200 – 600 calories per hour.
For those stuck in an exercise rut, frustrated at not losing fat through traditional yoga, it’s easy to see why so many, like Meghan, are turning to hot yoga as their favorite form of time-saving exercise.

Even greater is the fact that hot yoga can be performed inside, without having to venture into the outdoors. Perfect for Meghan when wanting to avoid the paps and exercise with the baby in the same room!

It’s easily accessible

For any new mom, half of the problem when trying to get more exercise is to find childcare. You can’t simply pop the baby down for a nap and head off outdoors for a 3-mile run. Some try taking the baby with them, but you can never guarantee that the baby is going to be happy with this arrangement each day, and workouts can become very dependant on baby’s mood.

Hot yoga, by comparison, is perfect. It can be performed in the comfort of your own living room while the baby has a nap, and it needs very little equipment – just YouTube, some lycra and a yoga mat are literally all you need to get started.

Granted, Meghan has a slight advantage over many others – her mom is a yoga instructor herself, and has been encouraging Meghan to practice yoga since the age of 7, so it’s fair to say she probably pretty much knows exactly what she’s doing by now. But that doesn’t mean you can’t follow her style.

YouTube is your yoga instructing friend

10 years ago, having a go at any kind of yoga would have meant visiting a class, but now we have the fantastic medium that is YouTube. With this, you can literally have an expert yoga instructor in your living room within minutes.
